WHAT IS SURI FIBER USED FOR?

The main use for Suri alpaca fiber is high fashion fabric for men's and women's designer clothing.  Luxury apparel, coats, sweaters, and unique decorator items as well as specialty interior fabrics and textiles take up the bulk of the rest of the world Suri alpaca fiber.

Lesser or more coarse fibers are readily used in the production of products that are not worn against the skin.  Outer garments, batting for bedding or pillows, and gorgeous rugs are created from fiber that has a lower value.  It typically values well above the average prices of wool.

Fiber Artists cherish Suri alpaca fleece for it's versatility and luster.  It's use is only limited by our own imagination.

Suri fiber is highly sought after by the fashion industry and cherished by the hand spinner. It has the softness of cashmere, luster of silk, warmth and featherweight of goose down, and the durability of wool. It's ability to accept dye makes it a favorite of all fiber enthusiasts. Suri fiber blends well with high-quality wool and other fine fiber, including silk and cashmere. The yarn can be knit, crocheted or woven.
